The 3^rd SEO Contest in the Philippines

Paradise Philippines marks the third SEO contest in the Philippines, officially called Bayanihan SEO 2007 contest.  "paradise philippines" is the key phrase to be used in this particular SEO.  Essentially, your website entry should rank in the top three places of the major search engines, Google, Yahoo and MSN by searching for the key phrase "Paradise Philippines" to win.  It doesn't matter if you capitalize your letters or not so "paradise philippines", "PARADISE PHILIPPINES" or any combination of lower and upper case letters are all acceptable.  In this website, instead of Bayanihan SEO contest, the contest will be called simply as Paradise Philippines.  To differentiate it from the contest name, the key phrase will be referred to as paradise philippines.

Paradise Philippines started on the 1st of July 2007 and to end on the 25th of January 2008.  It was only on the 12th of August that I learned about the contest. I've been trying to learn SEO when I thought of checking out the SEO scene in the Philippines.  That's when I saw the SEO.ph forum and where I came to know about the ongoing contest.  I thought of joining the contest to know how I measure up against the big boys of SEO in the Philippines. It is also an excellent opportunity to perform some experiments in terms of optimizing a website.  I'm a total newbie in the SEO arena and this will be a great opportunity to test whatever I've learned so far.  

Whatever SEO optimizations I will be applying on this website for my entry to Paradise Philippines are lessons I learned just recently.  These are lessons I learned from my own observations, articles from few so-called SEO gurus not to mention from those unselfish people in the various SEO forums who were very willing to share their SEO knowledge.
